Live music, cold beer and oysters are a down-home tradition all over the south. The Oyster Jam Music Festival, April 11-12, 2015 at Metropolitan Park in downtown Jacksonville is where everyone around here goes to get their oyster groove on.
Hanging out by the river and shucking oysters is just one of the draws at the festival this year. You’ll find 15+ eclectic bands including: The Band Be Easy, Split Tone, CLoud9 Vibes and J Collins - just to name a few. The best bikini contest on the river, SUP Race, Wakeboard slider jam, shuck’n contest and everyone’s favorite, the oyster cook-off featuring the areas premiere chefs rocking their best oyster, that you get to judge!
Nothing goes with oysters like cold beers like Jacksonville’s Veterans United, Magic Hat, Blue Moon and more from the Miller lineup.
The grills and tables are stocked with all the essentials for roasting or steaming your own oysters. But if you don’t know how to shuck like the locals, let one of our oyster ambassadors teach you. There are also oysters on the half shell and specialty oysters with bacon and cheese including the famous Rockefeller style all served by TOJ crew. No matter how you like ‘em we strive to make them affordable (based on market price). If oysters aren’t your thing, don’t worry local food trucks will be on site with a variety of great eats and sweets to complete the experience.
The $12 admission includes all day access to the jam and as a bonus you’re admitted into the Southeast US Boat Show to see all that’s going on in boating. KIDS UNDER 16 are FREE and they have plenty to do on site at the kid’s zone. So come on down to the oyster jam music fest and get your oyster on.
Long overdue. Downtown lands a significant festival highlighting Jacksonville unique culture. The Oyster Jam is a huge down-home oyster roast and music festival with over 15 bands rocking on the river. The eclectic sounds of a variety of music styles so everyone can sway the afternoon away.
